On And Off New Waters

Today was a lucky day. I'm on a short business trip, and my hotel for the night happened to be hosting a quarterly wine-tasting and artists' showcase. 

I had dinner at Lure: ceviche, then the seared ahi with aioli, asparagus, and sweet potato fries. 

Even in today's meetings I felt welcome and comfortable. I felt happy that, being new to the area, everyone wanted to show me the best of what they had to offer, and what I meant to them. That felt special.

Belmont Strawberry Blonde

Tonight I'm enjoying a Strawberry Blonde by Belmont Brewing Company of Long Beach, California. 

Fruity, crisp, refreshing, and just lightly sweet, and the big bottles were less than six bucks at the local supermarket. It's a great Summer beer, and I'm having it with some shrimp and red beans & rice. Delicious.
