Hello all! Seems like it's always been a long time since the last time, so let's just get to it. Here I have Stone brewing's Chipotle Smoked Porter:
Typically a draught, this is the first time Stone has bottled the Chipotle variant of their smoked porter. It has a spicy, chocolatey aroma. The beer is a dark, opaque black-brown with a tan head. It's full and powerful, with a lingering smoky spice. You feel the pepper all the way down.
Tasty as this is, I'm reluctant to offer pairing suggestions; this one has so much of its own flavor I feel it's a beer for drinking beer. And there's nothing wrong with that.
The Chipotle Smoked Porter is currently in a head-to-head contest against another vanilla beer from Stone for the right to be bottled continuously. You can vote for your favorite online. I shall have to try the other for due diligence.
